Erika handles operations, leads Farm to School efforts, farm field trip activities, and is the chef for all HIP Ag community events and more. She is dedicated to educating people how to improve their diets through sharing and creating delicious nutritious local food that uses an abundance of herbs and spices.
In 2005, Erika received her B.S. in Food Science and Nutrition and a B.A. in Spanish from San Diego State University. Since then, she has studied herbal medicine, Ayurveda, integrative nutrition and food preparation that supports the human and the earth. She is dedicated to creating positive human culture around integrative health based within locavorism. She is very passionate about harvesting wild foods and herbs, spices, cooking and preparing abundant Polynesian starch crops into delicious comfort foods.
A mother of three bright children, Erika loves to dance, is dedicated and passionate about hula, LOVES plants, and she is learning self-care.
