Daily Farm Projects


Interns will engage in hands-on field time for an average of 25-30 hours per week and maintain responsibilities in areas to include, but not limited to:

Planting, harvesting, processing, garden and orchard maintenance (weeding, mulching, watering, etc.).

Care for nursery plants and compost system including vermi-culture.

Work in Agroforestry fields and lo'i kalo restoration.

DAILY SCHEDULE


Monday - Friday 8am-1:30pm

Optional Transport Pick up and drop off at Kohala High School 7:45am (pick up) and 2pm (drop off).

Paid $250/week for full participation.

  • Two days at HIP's market vegetable garden at Halawa.
  • Three days working with Dash or Hualalai restoring lo'i, agroforestry, kalo mala at Starseed Ranch and Akoakoa Property owned by Kamehameha Schools. 
  • Lunch provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

EDUCATIONAL STIPEND


Interns will recieve $250 per week plus two weekly nutritious local lunches prepared by our staff.
